Wag More - Bark Less - And Always Wear A Smile
My name is Sequoia.
I am a seven year old Golden Retriever. I teach the core values of character education in Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Miami, Florida.
I practice patience, kindness, respect, cooperation, and acceptance. The best three words to describe me are - delicate, gentle and quiet. I wag more, bark less, and always wear a smile.
Treat the world with respect and watch life bloom all around you. Everything and everybody has value. We must treat all with care. When we care for the next person or pet, we feel valuable to others and a part of the community. Practice respecting others and you will leave everything in the world a little better than you found it.
I "paws" for happiness everyday. Respecting the fact that we can't hold onto life, I grasp life with an open paw, focus on the present moment, and live fully and completely in a loving way.
I like to smile, don't you?
We should live to give. I believe in being open and honest, accepting everyone (people and pets) for who they are, and being generous. When you open your heart and give to others, in all that you do, goodness will be returned to you. Try it!
These are a few of my favorite things: Riding in the car with a cool breeze on my face, diving into my water bowl (up to my eyes) after the dog walk, running after my tennis ball, and rolling on my back in the grass. I also love teaching and learning, hiking mountain trails, playing in snow, wading in mountain creeks, and just sitting on the porch or deck and simply relaxing.
People call me The Teaching Dog.
How would you describe yourself?
What do you love to do?
Do you want to be my friend?
