The goal of character education is to develop people of good character for a fair and compassionate society. Character education begins inside each of us. We each need to grow the seeds of good character deep within ourselves. We then have to show others what we feel inside. If we try our very best to practice the core values of character education with everyone we meet, the world will get better and better. Please join me. We can do this together!

The nine character core values as defined in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools curriculum are: Respect, Responsibility, Cooperation, Citizenship, Fairness, Honesty, Integrity, Kindness, and the Pursuit of Excellence

Changing the World - One Core Value at a Time
All the students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Miami, Florida are taught the core values of character education. When I say all students I mean students from pre-kindergarten to the 12th grade. Most recently, principals have been receiving daily morning announcement messages to read to all the students. This has been happening in every school across the district.
Each day Miami-Dade County Public Schools has been planting the seeds of character education into the hearts and minds of 345,990 students. See, we CAN change the world one person at a time - sharing one core value at a time.
