Still Life With Dog
I am happy to announce I had a successful still life session in Mr. Germain's 10th grade drawing class. I was almost absolutely still for 17 minutes while the students made drawings of me. My mom gave me a biscuit every three minutes and continued to say, "Stay. Good girl. Stay. Good girl. Good stay. Good stay," throughout the session. Well it worked! I continued to stay and I was more than just a good girl. I was a VERY good girl.

Memories - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A Unique Assignment
Do you remember when I worked as a "still life model" in Mr. Germain's 10th grade art class at DASH? It was two years ago. I was lifted up onto a display table and sat there for approximately 20 minutes while the students completed sketches of me. (It felt like a real long time to me but I was absolutely perfect!)
I recall that first session when I sat still - absolutely still. Well, I went for a second visit to Mr. Germain's art class last year. I had a hard time sitting still for 20 minutes this time. Maybe I was tired. I really don't know why I couldn't sit still. The students were forced into doing quick sketches because I moved around every 5 minutes or so.
I hope I am a little better behaved this school year. I have to sit absolutely still for 20 minutes. This is not an easy thing to do. You should try it sometime.

DASH at Art Basel 2011
My parents are going to try to include me at some of the Art Basel events in Miami this year. We are planning on going to the Maor Gallery in the Wynwood Art District to see On the Edge of Light, a multi-media group exhibition that explores five artists' interpretation of different qualifies of light. I will get to see the outside streetscape called "Dance of Light." Inside the gallery the exhibition will feature student artists from DASH.
Art Show: Radicated Retrospective 2215 NW 2 Ave. Miami
I attended the opening reception in the Wynwood section of Miami. RADICATED RETROSPECTIVE is a fund raiser art show for New World School of the Arts and DASH. It is a unique collaborative effort between the husband-and-wife-team of Tom Wyroba (art teacher at New World) and Stacey Mancuso (principal of DASH). It is not every night that I am invited to an opening reception at an art gallery. It was extra fun when I saw my "classmates" from Mr. Germain's 10th grade drawing class. That is where I model.

I enjoyed posing in front of a large white painting. It was on the floor and leaning on the wall. I was very gentle and didn't knock it down. I had to work really hard at being quiet and gentle because there was a lot of art work all over the gallery. |
