Bernie Wishes Everyone a Happy Thanksgiving

Bernie saw the photograph my mom took of me when I was playing in the autumn leaves so he asked his parents to let him play in the autumn leaves too. As you can see, this is the best Bernie could do because remember - he is a little stuffed animal. I love Bernie!
They are twin redheads - and you know I love redheads!
Aunt Arlene
Cousin Carlos is a French Bulldog. He is a stuffed animal and much smaller than me but I still love him very much. I love Aunt Arlene too!
Alicia and Dante
Hi Sequoia,
My name is Alicia. Irene told me you were coming to my school. I am so excited!
You look just like my dog Dante. Here is a picture of Dante and me. Dante is a boy dog and you are girl dog.
I can't wait to meet you.
love,
Alicia
Meet Chang
One of My Best Friends
Jim the Plowman
This is Bernie

Bernie was adopted 2 years ago by my friend, Enid, when she was visiting Switzerland. Yes, believe it or not, Bernie is from Switzerland. He is a small stuffed St. Bernard Dog - Bernie for short.
Bernie is very small, soft, and fluffy. He doesn't shed. Do you know what the word shed means? When you brush most dogs or when they shake their bodies, some of their fur (hair) falls off their bodies. When a dog's fur falls off this way it is call shedding.
Bernie sent Sequoia an email. See Sequoia's Mailbox.
My New Friend Dennis
We didn't even know that Mr. Arana was going to get a dog. He went to Miami-Dade Animal Services last Saturday and selected Denny but they were told another family had put a special hold request for Denny. Well those people changed their minds so Mr. and Mrs. Arana got a call Tuesday night saying they could adopt Denny.
I am so happy he came over to meet me right after being adopted by his new family. We ran around and played so much that my parents couldn’t even get a good picture of us together. We were too excited to sit still and smile for the camera.
When Denny went home after playing he spent lots of time looking around his new home. His favorite thing is the little rug his parents gave him. He doesn’t even go to sleep in the new dog bed. He would rather lie on his rug and rub his face. I can understand. I love to rub my face on the rug too. Denny is a cool little guy.
My iPrep Academy Friends
Meet Cadee and Hollie - My Future Friends

One year later, at the same pet store in Miami, Hollie was adopted by Cadee's family. Hollie has a hip problem but her family is taking very good care of her. Look at the photo below of Cadee and Hollie. They like to wear pink collars just like me!
Both Cadee and Hollie are models of the character value we are studying in October - Kindness. They are also very loving and understanding. When anyone in their family is sad or upset about something, Cadee and Hollie cheer them up and make them smile.
Think about the important work Friends Forever Rescue is doing in Miami, finding loving homes for rescue dogs like Cadee and Hollie. Do you want to visit their rescue dogs? They are waiting to be adopted by loving families like you. Here is their adoption schedule:
Forever Friends Rescue at Pet Smart - every Saturday (10 am - 4 pm) at Pet Smart in Miami - 13621 S. Dixie Highway
Forever Friends Adoption at Felix Varela Senior High School - every 3rd Sunday of the month (noon - 4 pm) - 15255 SW 96th Street, Miami
Friends Forever Rescue Main Adoption Center in Miami - 17425 SW 97th Avenue - Phone 786.229.9002. If you call, please ask for Dee.

Sunday and Peaches

When my dad retires we are going to go on a road trip to California to see Sunday and Peaches. This road trip is less than one year away. Yeah!

Uncle Charles (aka Chef Chuck)
My Uncle Charles is a really good chef. People call him "Chef Chuck." My parents had him cater my birthday party and everyone loved the food - especially the meatballs!
If you want to go see a movie and eat a great dinner at the same time, you can visit Charles' restaurant. It's called Bogart's - in Boca Raton. The restaurant is on the second floor of the Cinemark Palace 20 movie theatre. You can dine at Bogart's with our without seeing a movie. Too bad I can't go because this restaurant is indoors only. I wish they had an outside terrace for dogs. |
Anthony
This is Baby Anthony! My grandma Millie and your mom have been great friends for years! Your mom and dad also helped my mom when she first became a special ed. teacher! They all have a passion for education! I just looked through your site with my mommy and one of your pictures reminded my mommy of me after my bath! She attached the picture of me to this message for you to see! I'm sorry that we hadn't messaged you earlier...being a new mommy is hard work or so my mommy says...I'm a good baby...really! I'm already 3 months old! Hopefully we can meet one day soon! When I'm older, I hope to have you come to my school so that I can learn from you too, just like all of the lucky kids on your site.
I hope that you and your family are doing well. I heard about your grandpa a couple of days ago. You and your parents are in my family's prayers.
Hope you add me to your list of new friends! Love you Sequoia!
Hugs and Kisses,
Anthony Luciano Ercilla and family!:)

Toto
Toto is a three-year old Yorkshire Terrier. Isn't Toto cute? I think he looks like a stuffed animal. Toto lives with my mom's work friend, Steven U.
Yorkshire Terriers are winning show dogs and popular companion dogs. They are small in size with silky blue and tan coats.
Country of Origin - England
Nickname - Yorkie
A Cat Named Jack
Jack had surgery the other day and now has to wear the pilgrim collar for ten days. His collar is different from mine. It is a lot smaller because Jack is a cat. His collar is clear. It is not pink because Jack is not a girl like me.
Jack loves to curl up and take a nice nap on his king-size bed, leaning on his brother Bailey (a nine-year old yellow lab). They look so cozy together, don't they? I hope I get to meet Jack and Bailey one day. I am sure we will be friends right away!
Sunny and Me
I have a wonderful friend who is also a close neighbor - Sunny. His mom calls him Sunny Boy but I call him by his secret nickname (Klein). Sunny is just a couple of months older than me. Sunny's birthday is March 1st. We like to run and play in his front yard. He has a nice grassy area where we enjoying rolling on our backs and he has a real big water bucket. You can see in this picture I just finished drinking out of the water bucket. That is why my face is all wet. I went underwater up to my eyes for a drink. I love doing that!
Auntie Ruth
Do you like where I stay while I am in the office? I go into my little office "dog house" in between visiting schools. I get tired working in schools. I guess you can tell by the look on my face.

Mr. Arana
It is very beautiful here. I guess you can see in this photo that Mr. Arana needs to take the club back more but he is still learning. I know he will continue to improve at the driving range so he can rent a cart and go golfing with my dad one day. Before playing your first game of golf you need to practice at the driving range alot. Mr. Arana knows this. He is a serious and dedicated golf student.
Scratch and George
Look at Scratch - He is talking to George. Do I look wet to you? Well, I am.
Here I am at The Inn at Iris Meadows in Waynesville, North Carolina. This is where my mom and dad stayed with Chester (in the one dog room) while they were looking for our new house. They really love the inn. Scratch lives at the inn with George and Becky (the owners of the inn).
This was my first visit to The Inn at Iris Meadows. It is located on Love Lane and I loved it there. I especially LOVED Scratch. We ran around and played a lot. Scratch chased me up and down the tree-lined pathways around the inn. It was so much fun! I did do one wrong thing though. I took a little dive into their pond. Am I bad? Once I find water I always have the need to take a little dive. George said he didn't mind but I better not try this one again!

Cody and Steven
Steven entered my "Name That Tune" contest. I loved his entry. I wrote Steven a message, thanking him for entering the contest, and he wrote back telling me, "Thanks! I hope I win! I also have a dog named Cody (see photo). Cody loves everyone. Talk to you soon. Bye!" Steven
Guess what! Steven's song by Green Day tied for first place in my contest. Below is a photo of Steven in his pool with Cody. I hope I get to go swimming with Steven one day.

Dalton
Let me tell you about Dalton. Dalton is a beautiful male Golden Retriever who loves to swim and play. His sister's name is Treasure. Dalton can run real fast and he likes to share. Dalton was my best buddy for two months while I was living with his parents, Chris and Kristi. Chris and Kristi are like my foster parents. Let me tell you what they did for me. When I needed a home they invited me to live with them as long as needed until they found me a new home. Well, you know the rest. I am now in my new home and loving everything. I will ALWAYS remember Chris and Kristi and what wonderful care they gave me. Kristi took extra care in giving me a bath and blow dry. She even trimmed the hair between my toes. When Chris and Kristi come to our house to see me I am going to jump all over them! They won't mind.
Jezebel
"Hi Sequoia. It was great meeting you and sharing my football with you. I love footballs of all kinds and sizes. I also love to eat, swim and retrieve. I live with my people parents, Rosy & Lewis, and with my dog mom, Bailey, my sister Maddie, and my "cousin," Jack. I hope you can visit sometime soon."
